Hey there! I’m Marissa :)
I’m grateful you’re here. Truly.
About me… where to start? I’m a small-town Nebraska girl through and through. Although if you know me, you know it’s nearly impossible to keep up with where I am at any given point in time. I’m always on the road. When I’m not in Nebraska for sessions, I’m on the road in a camper with my husband traveling the south with his work. We were doing RV living before it was the cool thing to do. If I knew that in 2016, I would’ve started a Youtube channel all about it back then before very. Oh well, hindsight is 20/20.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m usually in the gym, out with friends, or cooking up something delicious or slightly burnt.
I remember when I was 14 years old I saved up $500 and bought my first camera. A Canon Rebel XS. I still have that little camera and actually used it to shoot with until 2021 when I decided to start turning my passion for photography into a real, grown-up business.
I’m a firm believer that the equipment doesn’t make the photographer. A great photographer can create beautiful art without the top of the line gadgets and gizmos. The waterfall photos on this site were taken with that nifty little starter camera.<3
What sets me on fire
Community. Lifting weights. Relationships. Sarcasm. Margaritas. Whole, home-cooked meals. Belly laughs. Empowering women & helping them see the beauty they radiate. Experiencing the world. Mac and cheese. The sound of a dog’s feet running on the floor. Having real, honest conversations. Crisp air on a spring morning.
The most important thing in my life is the people who are in it. I’ve always worked hard to bring people together, spend time with those who lift others up and foster a community of growth-minded people through friendship. This is one part of why photography is a passion of mine. I get to see you through your life’s most precious moments and help you remember them forever.
Life is entirely too short and it’s so important to me to capture people as they are right in the moment. I will never grow tired of capturing real, honest connections and moments through images that will transcend lifetimes. Who cares if you don’t have the same body as you had 10 years ago - one day your kids will be looking back at these photos and be glad you showed up.<3
My favorite motto with photography is “life is short, just take the picture.” I truly believe photography is one investment that grows more valuable with time.
